| Q | Briefly describe your background/training. |
| A | I started my career when I was a University student, and after graduating it I belonged to the theatre company in Tokyo for about 6 years and played many roles in many kinds of theatre plays. |
| Q | Tell us a little about you show and character |
| A | The mysterious Miss Hiccup lives alone, but is definitely not lonely. She is forever accompanied by a raucous cast of sounds and music that make her life an absurd adventure. |
| Q | How do you manage wearing different 'hats' as a self-producing artist? What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? |
| A | I love to create the show, but I'm not good at selling it! But anyway I'm doing my best...always try to do my best. Because I love my show and really want to show it to many people in the world. Being artist and being a producer is totally different, though. As a director, I often watch a video of my show to direct my show better. My strengths are...unique imagination, being curious and love to find something new, especially I love to find something tiny but beautiful. My imagination is basically very ridiculous and childish but it can fly far and often reminds people of their own treasures. I love to tour to see many people whom I don't know yet. Being alone is tough, but it makes my tour easy and simple. My weaknesses are...not being English speaker. And I love beer too much to save money...sigh. |
| Q | You travel a lot with your show what are some of your favorite places you have produced you show at? |
| A | Ohhh...I love every place! Generally speaking, Japanese audience are basically more quiet and shy than those in US or Canada. My show is comedy and when I do my show in North America, audience always react vividly and enthusiastically that makes me encouraged a lot. California was great, Florida was very lovely, and Canada was friendly all the time. I was born in country side of Japan, so I love to visit country towns as well as big cities. And children are always my best friends in every place. |
| Q | What does 'success' mean to you? |
| A | Success is to make my audience surprised, laugh and happy. In another meaning, success is being able to eat and drink beer enough to create my show. |
| Q | What do you want the audience to experience during your show? |
| A | Enjoy all the sounds around you, and enjoy traveling with your own imagination with me. |
| Q | Why do you travel doing Fringe Festivals and why are you doing the Capital Fringe Festival? |
| A | I know my show can go across beyond any borders in the world, so I want to try it. Festivals can be competitive but that is the fun — it is so exciting and fair for everyone. Capital Fringe is in capital of USA! I am from the fringe of the world, visiting a capital central place is exciting. Honestly, my good friends that are Fringe artists recommended that I do the Capital Fringe Festival! I trust them. |
