What is the Clown Cabaret?
Clown Cabaret is a once a month show that showcases the bizarre, fun, interesting and silly world of Clown. Clowns are terribly misunderstood these days. Our goal is to change that. With highly skilled, well-trained performers, Clown Cabaret expands the audience's understanding, but gives them the opportunity to laugh, cry, and, maybe, throw a pie in someone's face.
Clown Cabaret was founded in 2010 by DC performers Karen Beriss, Matthew Pauli and Rich Potter in order to give clowns an opportunity to try new material in a supportive and fun spot with a great audience. Variety performers can showcase new material and develop old material and, most importantly, play.
Capital Fringe is thrilled to foster the Clowns! In the first year at Fort Fringe the Clown Cabaret has been incorporated as a for-profit business, acquired company liablity insurance and been seen by 100s of audience members building the patron base for clowning in the DC Metro area.
